Our little Gertie is only 3 months old. Yesterday morning she didn't come out of the hen house. She has a comb that looks a little pale and slightly fallen over. She eventually came out when I called her but didn't eat. Her crop, we discovered, is swollen but squishy. We offered only grit, separated her and had to give her garlic water with a syringe after she stopped drinking yesterday. She threw up once yesterday and several times this morning. Now her crop is empty but she just did a watery poop with little red dots in it! Is that blood??? We still have her separated and she has only grit and water with Apple Cider vinegar in it.

Remove the grit and the water with ACV in it. Give her just plain clean water.
Did you massage the crop to confirm it is in fact empty? She's she have any foul odor coming from her mouth?
Can you post pictures of what she pooped?
Can you post pictures of her?
If the crop is empty, offer her a small amount of wet mash made from chick starter or Flock Raiser. Keep her isolated until you see if the crop is moving and she is digesting her food.

So we ended up at the vet as she seemed to not be getting any better. He found and cleared a blockage for her. We need to isolate an watch her food intake- he said maybe mash... what is mash?
