Missed a throwback yesterday, so here's one today. Consider this a very early Caturday. A young cat snuggling in Grandma's warm feathers.

This was on the way to work this morning...and ticked up one just before I took the pick.View attachment 4193033

Good thing the littles are feathered out so quickly

Why do they pose on the wrong day? View attachment 4193034also this morning.

Brrrr! What am I saying - it was that here (8 & 9C) last week in the early mornings. Yesterday it was 14C (56f) at 06:30am, supposed to be 20C (68f) this morning, currently 21c (70f).

The fans are yet again going full till for the chooks and horses.

@ChicoryBlue
As promised a little Bucky photo shoot. Probably more than you wanted but I was trying to get a clear view of the dark stripe on the top of her head and there was a lot of photobombing going on!
Sorry - lots of pics!

What a cute little group, RC!

What’s the red pulleys contraption? While I was looking at it through sunglasses, it looked like a Rube Goldberg device for a giant salt shaker.

Regarding your query a while back about the hay elevator here is what it looks like in action.

The bales are loaded onto the unit and a chain with teeth slide the bales up into the loft where we stack the hay. FYI it was 109F in that loft last month when I was clearing the loft getting ready for this year's hay, that's with NO breeze and a lot of humidity - ugh....

And the hay loft when empty.

The loft is now filled to the roof.

Heaven help me if one of the broody brats ever got up there under those eves and tried to hatch eggs. There would be no way I would ever be able to get to them. Not without hauling all the hay out.
