CROP SURGERY COMPLETE! Sad update. :( RIP Yogurt

I'm liking the glue it idea. they have that instant stuff at walmart right>? I think I'll glue it if its safe.

crop surgery complete. I'm not happy with how we closed the crop, used the instant glue stuff and I hope it holds... I'm not confident that it will. I ended up stitching the skin because it wasn't holding with the stuff. there was about a cup of hay and other crap in there along with the moth ball. I hope she makes it.

so far she's just laying around poor thing. gave her a shot of penicillin.

HUGE thank you to TimG who came and did all the dirty work. I stitched.

it wasn't too terrible. it smelled gross though. think, half massed food mixed with the smell of mothballs. GROSS!!!!

I hope she didn't aspirate anything because it was running out her mouth at times. that concerns me a little.

she's currently sleeping and hasn't drank anything yet, but she poops something nasty. so things are moving through now at least. she's been doing a lot of preening too. now to nurse her back to health. sigh........ I really hope she makes it.

Make sure you give her plain yogurt as one of her first foods after surgery, it will get some beneficial bacteria in there. Good luck!!!!

You guys did great! Hopefully in a few hours after she's had some rest she'll take some water and later on some soft food. The thing to keep in mind is that she surely would have died had you done nothing. You've given her a chance and now it's up to her.
