Crop surgery recovery time?

I gave her 4 meals today, each contained 1 scrambled egg with a tablespoon of yogurt. She never ate the carrots. By the end of the night I was worried it may have been too much with the size of her crop. I'll assess in the morning and recheck incisions etc. Thank you, I was worried about what to feed, how much and for how long. I need to continue this for 2 weeks? That would mean she would be inside for that long and I'm fearful of boredom and reintegration with being away from the flock for 3 weeks.
Yes I would do 2 weeks you could have her outside for like an hour because fresh air is good a the flock would recognize her. But I would watch her.

If it's going to be that long I may move the medical cage into the living area. It is currently set up in the sunroom for quiet. But she is not in need of total undisturbed quiet. I think it may help her if she has something to see and me talking to her. Thanks again, I was kinda in the dark. The vet was awesome, it was his first crop surgery and we were a last minute add. He mentioned egg and yogurt and I have only fed those. Outside of that I got basic care instructions for the stitches and off we were.
Thanks again!

No problem anytime;)

This thread makes me a little sad. I really miss my chicken.

Anyway, a cold compress put on her crop for 20 minutes on/off really helped her. It reduced the swelling enough to let her eat.

@Lenny loves chickens

So she has been eating egg, yogurt and mash (soaked over night). I am drowning everything in water because she is not drinking enough. I am nervous to restrain her myself and try to syringe water because I may put pressure on her crop with how much she fights. She is back to not even sitting still enough to get a good look and feel of her crop.

She is eating vigorously, and that's an understatement. I am restricting her to about 4-5 smaller meals a day to give her crop time to process it. This morning her crop is still malleable and warm. It's not firm, doughy or even feels like there is anything in there. It's still warm to the touch but not as warm as the first couple days after surgery. Stitches look good.

When I pick up my rooster in the mornings his crop must be completely flat because I cannot find/feel it.

So I am wondering if Esther's crop could still be slightly swollen? I am inclined to say there is no infection, nothing points me in that direction by behaviors, redness or lethargy. Do I keep up what I am doing or change something?
I have YouTube playing videos of chickens on farms for her.

I'm sorry, losing a pet is so difficult.
