I'm a new chicken mama in the last year, and I got a second batch of chicks in early August. One of these newer pullets has had a lot of crop trouble the past week. First I found her with a baseball size squishy ball on her chest that felt like it would burst any minute. I read several things and tried massaging her upside down, which was successful in expelling the gross liquid, but it kept filling up. I then separated her for 2 days with no food and just water with electrolytes. She definitely had a sour crop at that point, which I could tell from the nassssssty smell. It improved a little bit so I put her back in yesterday with the other girls. Today it's about the size of a golf ball and super solid, and I can squish it around and form it exactly like a balloon full of sand. I got some grit today and took her out from the others again and she's now in a crate in a guest room with water with electrolytes again and a very small amount of grit, but no food. What should I do for her? She's so sweet and docile. About 8 weeks old at this point, maybe a bit less.

I'm sorry to hear that your sweet chickie is not doing well. I don't have any advice but I hope someone will be along soon to help.
