In the Brooder
Hello! I have a five week old Wheaten Ameraucana chick with cross beak. She is small but adapting and eating fine. I’ve been monitoring her for any signs of suffering. Out of all the existing posts on this condition, I haven’t seen any mention of possible sinus problems caused by this deformity. Looking at her today, Muffy’s left side is more runny than usual (nostril and eye), she looks a little red and the feathers seems to be dropping off. Is this a side effect of her misshapen head, or signs of an infection? If it’s the latter, I’m curious whether cross beaks are more prone to sinus infection?
