lol no way it is too small i cant even stretch my arms all the way out without touching the other wall. what i mean by that is that there is a wall that separates the living room from the kitchen the kitchen is like 6 or 8 feet long and like 5 feet wide. the counter and stove are up against the wall and when you are in there if someone wants to squeeze behind you they have only a tiny bit of space to get around you. lol way to small. oh and i meant im not fond of the color.

i rescued a chick from one of the hens outside. they are wild chickens and one of the hens has two chicks. the chick i rescued has a missing eye and a big tumor thing on that side and also has a cross beak. its like 2 or 3 months old so im hoping it survives till it is an adult and i hope it is a hen and not roo. i plan on getting one or two more tomorrow so it has company and will do my best to pick out pullets and not a roo i dont want it to breed.

Oh no poor chickie Dee. I hope it gets better. Pfft how can you not like purple!?

Well I'm awake, have been for hours due to my awful neighbours next door but one. ****ed off doesnt even come close. They are awful creatures. They are so abusive to my immediate neighbours too. I have no idea who I'd report them to if I wanted to. I know the police know who they are. Maybe i should go straight to them. Argghhhhhhhhh

I've been trying this technique out a bit and it's been pretty good. I found it on this web site and I just copied it and kept it so here it is. I hope this helps you all!
The shank is the long scaly part of their leg. We are all still learning. The idea is to look at the shank and find a stub of a spur or not. So far with this method I have been 90% right about who was male and female, even in the Ams I hatched. Which stinks when you know from such an early age that they are cockerels and you know you don't need that many. I am still experimenting with this see. I haven't culled any at hatch based on what I am seeing anyway. Hay, what's wrong w/ a purple kitchen! I've had it, so you know that it's not a bad thing! lol No, a nice blue/purple is what I had, love , loved, loved it!

thanks i will go check its legs out. i think it is a pullet though because the crown on its head it little and the other chicks i used to have were the same kind and the ones with the smaller crowns were pullets and the bigger crown ended up being roos. the roos also started fighting each other at 2 months of age and i had to get rid of some to stop the fighting. im not 100% sure though only 95% sure its a pullet.

lol im not saying purple is a bad color but i just really dont like the color of this purple. its too dark for me.

Well I can't complain! DD has me painting the framework to the pen to Kings new man cave! I will post them once we are done. I wish I could do one of those pages I guess. But just doing this is enough for me!
