Crossbeak?

One of my girls beak is really twisted. The upper is curled around the bottom. She has been doing OK but I'm concerned that at some point she will not be able to eat. Should I trim the beak?

I don't believe trimming is advised.

At some point yes, she won't be able to eat properly - you will need to make sure the feed is deep enough so she can pick it up. I've never had a crossbeak myself, just from what I've seen here.

I have a GLW that has a messed up beak. I have to trim hers with the dremel tool to prevent any problems.

If we could see a pic we could assess the problem better.

I had one cross beak...eventually she died. I wouldn't breed from her. But would make her comfortable and accommodate her as much as possible like lots of available food. Trim as needed, but not too close.

I agree - show us pics and we can help advise how much you can trim.

I've got a banty cochin with a twisted beak. Hers isn't too bad but sometimes the beak gets a wee bit long. I do trim it, but just slightly.
