Would breeding a broody type breed rooster to a non broody hen, make the chicks of the next generation broody?

Like say it was a Leghorn hen and a silkie Rooster, then either incubated the eggs or put them under another broody hen?

I would be more concerned with a few other things in this cross, Good lord what kind of a look would this bird be ??. Are you wanting broodiness ?? and what other qualities would you like to see in a bird. Or is it that these are just what you have to work with ??.

Well I was just using that as an example, or if I were to get some older hens from a poultry farm, but wanted their offspring to be broody. But I was more thinking a Black Giant mixed with a silkie to produce a very large broody hen. And yes a leghorn X Silkie would look rather funny haha.

Why not just get a large broody breed there are ton's those around.

For some reason I've always liked crossbred chickens, I do have some large broody chickens, quite a few: Partridge rocks, Buff Orps, Light Brahma, Turkens. I was just curious if it would work, to add some broodyness into a breed that doesn't have much or any it.

u could try. do an experiment. mix a broody with none broody and choose offspring with the traits u want and keep mixing them with a broody till u get what u want. worth a try. u may make an intresting chicken. i did an experiment of my own, turns out i made a sex-linked chick. hatched yesterday. wondering what its ganna turn out looking like. good luck!
