So I'm completely new to chicken genetics and was looking up how olive egger chickens come to be. I know if you have a marans rooster and a blue egg laying hen like an ameraucana or legbar you can hatch out an olive egger. I was curious what you would get with a blue laced red wyandotte rooster and cream legbar hen or ameraucana hen? Would the resulting pullets lay green eggs, just not as dark as an olive egger?

Yes that is correct.
Anytime you cross a brown egg layer with a pure for blue blue egg layer you'll get a green egg layer.
The darker the brown egg layer lays the darker green the green egg layer will lay.
You only get an olive egg layer from the very dark brown egg layers.
No regular brown egg layer will make an olive egger. Not even all marans will produce green egg layers that if label as olive eggs.
A Wyandotte crossed with a blue egg layer is just producing Easter eggers.

My other question I've had is why do they say the rooster should be the dark egg laying breed and the hen should be the blue layer? Could you technically get an olive egger if the rooster was the blue laying breed and the hen was the dark brown egg layer (like a black copper marans)?
