Crossing Black Australorp Rooster x Splash Orpington Hen = All Blue chicks???

http://sellers.kippenjungle.nl/page0.html is the site you spoke of.
I used it getting a handle on Muscovy coloring.

http://www.edelras.nl/chickengenetics/mutations2.html is another I found. Gets more indepth on skin, leg, eye color etc genetics. I jumped

I jumped in with several different varieties to sort out what breeds I personally liked best.
Wanted hearty multipurpose breed that are good foragers. Decent broodies to produce offspring. Decent feed conversion... all that. Homestead suitable stock. Have to say I LOVE the lace Orps and the splashes coloring. Breed seems to be all one could ask for along with good temp. Then there's the color projects to play with.....for the mad scientist in me!

So would it be the same if I crossed a Splash Jersey Giant with a BA? Don't have any BA but just wondering as I would think it may not be a similar black gene in the BA's.

Thanks, Herman

Well, after reviewing my records I was wrong I collected some eggs from this pen without waiting for the previous roosters juice to fade and that is where the pure australorps came from. I did get some blue birds and my bet is they were from this guy. I culled the roosters at hatch so that is why I only got 2 hens and 7 black hens. oops

How did you determine gender at hatch? I need to learn how to do this...
