OK, so I've been doing research on chickens for a while even before I got my first chicks back in June. It's obvious to anyone that my 7 roosters are roosters, but since an experienced chicken keeper told me they were hens, I doubted myself.
I've been offered these 4 hens by a neighbor in exchange for 6 of my 7 roosters. I'm pretty sure they are hens, and I'm also pretty sure that they are the breeds he says they are, but just to be safe, I'm posting them for everyone's opinion. I realize they aren't the best photos. I can try to get better ones/
The red/brown one is supposed to be a RIR/Easter Egger mix, about 10 months old.
This one is supposed to be a Maran, also about 10 months old.

This one is supposed to be an Easter Egger almost 2 years old.
That sounds like a good deal. The only one I question is the 3rd bird. That's one tough and large looking girl. The other 3 are for sure hens. Keep the rooster you like the best. He needs to be mild mannered and respectful of you and his hens.
This is the one I questioned but if you look at the 1st picture with the red hen, you can clearly see she has no saddle feathers or other male characteristic. The EE rooster is a good looking boy. The additional pictures you posted are of a very typical EE hen. When you see that color pattern, you know you have a hen.
