"Crowing" hens? Weird sinuses?

I has some kind of a virus disease in the flock some weeks ago, and vet gave us a powder to dillute in water and spray the coop with. Some chickens even died from the disease but it didn't show any symptoms similiar to this crowing. What should i search for in the beak?
What did the vet give you to spray in the coop? Do you remember the name?

When you look inside the beak see if there's any white or yellow spots in the roof of the beak, sides and in the throat.

I don't know name cuz he gave us some i'd say he shouldn't, cuz in Poland we don't have many chicken remedies sold in quantities suitable for small flocks, so he got some in the steril bag and gave us.

I agree that's more of a sneeze or cough than a crowing lady.

The truth is there aren't that many chicken remedies.. that work and certainly not for something that's viral.

Sorry you face this! These things are best supported through good nutrition (not diminished by so called healthy treats) to support the birds own immune system.. IMO.

Posting a video of a hen crowing for comparison..

Sorry for your losses! :hugs

Hopefully those left will be strong. :fl

Thanks. So i can't do anything about them sneezing/coughing? I checked and i couldn't see anything suspicious except 2 symetrical black/dark dots in the "roof"( upper side) of the laying one palate. Is this something bad?

It may be coloring in the roof of the beak since they are symetrical.

The only thing I could suggest since you are in Poland is to seek vet care. I know sometimes that's not an option or it's very expensive. If it's respiratory, an antibiotic may help treat symptoms, but meds are not a cure.

When the weekend comes and you aren't in school, try to check their crops at least on one morning.

Clean fresh plain water, fresh feed. If housing needs ventilation add some and clean up any extra droppings (ammonia from poop can irritate the respiratory system).
Do what you can.

Actually the vet has discovered that one of my hens had died of a virus disease by doing a necropsy. If something bad happens i can always call them (it's a veterinarian "company" that helps in large, commercial egg farms, but they also come to small flocks like mine). The laying one has been doing this for a pretty long time (since school started i think, or even earlier) and she "does her job", eats normally, lays eggs etc. The broody one too. I will keep u informed if anything happens.
PS. the dots werent on the beaks roof but behind the beak (on the skin above the tongue i'd say? you get it?soffit, palate or roof of mouth, thats what people call it i think)

Do you have a copy of the necropsy report? Can you recall the name of the viral disease?

A list of the most common ones..

A fairly extensive list with links to descriptions..

Have you had a fecal float done.. or tested or treated for internal parasites?

We didn;t get any paper. The vet didn't know what disease it was, he only knew that it had to do something with virus as kidneys (i think) were swollen. I noticed that the laying one makes a gurgling sound sometimes.
