Crowntail Betta!

I love Bettas and these types are goreous! Sometimes you can find them on Ebay in what you are looking for.

My house is cool about 68 degrees in those huge pickling jars and they loved it. But I am afraid it might be too cold for them. I would love to get more but I will have to get a pickle jar from the store (Mt Olive brands) and eat alot of pickles LOL!

I have two crowntail betts but no pictures. One is from Walmart the other was from petsmart (they are in separate bowls). They both have me trained because they are sitting on my computer desk and everytime I stand up they ask for food so I cannot forget to feed them. I need to get pics of them because they are pretty. My uncle helped me come with these two names. The fish that does not have the biggest fins is Fan and the other one is Fin. They are really cool fish.

We got a new one last week. His name is Sid.

We've had tons! They're beautiful fish. I had one that lived for about 4 years. We've also had females too.

That one is a beauty! I've never seen a tail like that.

I used to have one that was "trained" to jump for the food I had in my hand. He was an awesome fish. Lived in an aerated tank and everything. This one seems plenty happy to be in the bowl with the bamboo!

I haven't named him yet...maybe "Cloud"?? LOL

Thanks for the compliments!

I absolutely adore the Crowntails. The local petstores rarely have them, so I told myself next time I get Bettas I'll order them online and have them shipped. I've come to the realization that the internet is the world at your fingertips, why go to the local petshop when they ship their critters up from Florida or whatnot and pass the shipping prices onto you anyway.

Probably one of the easiest pets to have.

Just make sure to change the water regularly and to feed them! Most common mistake with these guys is people think that they live off of and eat the plants in the vase. In reality, these are carnivorious fish and need the proper feed. They eat very little, but they do need food.

One day, I hope that they breed a passive Betta. Could you imagine having a whole tank of those gorgeous males?
