And that isn't the meaning of "VOLUNTARY", now is it? Actually, it smacks of blackmail-do this or you're toast! I'm wondering how they knew you had two house chickens unless you write checks at the feedstore OR there are spies on BYC! Gee, that sounds plausible to me- Feds posing as innocent chicken owners on BYC.

UM...If you have a website with pictures of your chickens on them .... guess what... They have WEB CRAWLER bots that grab the info and send it in. They look for things like, chicks, hens, roosters, horse, cow, dogs, birds, and other names like that to find you. They then take that info and call the local xyzchickens.com and demand the info... now they xyz don't actually have to give the info... because thats after all invasion of privacy laws right... But since good old Bush has ruined that for us almost anything goes.

The Feds... not to be confuzzled with The government... want your stuff.... that way they have CONTROL. Guess what... they have been planning this for a very long time. Its called the NEW WORLD ORDER. Anyone ready for a fight! Oh and will they read my post... PROBABLY!

All of this reminds me of when,back in 1994,I retired from the military and was put on the"inactive reserve list,et al." On some database,there's my name,ss#, length and branches of military service and eligibility to recall to active duty. I thought when HELL freezes over,the US govt. is going to want an overweight,one-legged combat vet that suffers from PTSD and flashbacks to lug automatic weapons and explosives around(and the extensive knowledge and experience that goes with these) and use them in an aggressive matter! Well,whodathunkdat, 9/11 happened and that I would actually get that call? So...I'm standing there,with my prosthesis on,in my tighty whiteys telling the young man that the US Army didn't make a set of fatigues big enough for me way back in the day let alone these days(2002)...YES,NAIS is some serious doodoo. Any form of government just LOVES lists! Otherwise,how would the government justify spending your tax dollars? Need money to do a study to make a list on the feasibility and usefulness of list-making...and the science behind it,along with an impact study on its effects on Global-Warming.

Arklady has a good point. Unless you have kept your chickens a complete secret from everyone, there are a million ways they can know who has what. And how can you keep a bunch of loudmouth hens a secret even without a rooster, LOL? You can't, really. All they have to do is scan BYC then do a little research.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow
born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington. And they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country.
Maybe we should give them all a cow.

Have you ever seen a feed lot of 5000 black angus? I have. Of course there is the smell that goes with it... They ALL look the same. So they use ear tags...You know what? Ear tags fall out and then where are you. We find them all the time in the pasture. They can't track cows (with any great accuracy)...they just SAY they do.

Of course if we gave each of the cows an illegal alien we might be able to track both with better efficiency and have only one agency over seeing both jobs...hows that for reducing government?
