I was actually the shipper of eggs that were curshed and delivered to the person in a plastic bag!!! I know that it is a rare thing but I went up the chain of command by calling the USPS customer service number. They kept telling me too bad and I kept asking for their boss and FINALLY they are refunding my shipping. USPS doesn't allow insurance and I think it is only fair. One thing the 3rd supervisor told me is that both perties need to complain so that you have a better chance of proving your case to them. She also suggested that the receiver of the eggs take the damaged box and eggs into the PO to show them and request that it be documented. Hope this helps someone!
