I was kinda leaning towards calcium. I just thought it was odd. It looks like someone dipped the top half of the egg in a chalky paint.It's calcium.
I haven't cracked it open yet. But other than the "frosting", it feels like a normal egg. All my layers, just started laying in September. So it could just be a newer layer defect. I don't know.Does that area have a thinner shell?
Hopefully it's just a one time shelling glitch.
You can get a lot of 'abnormal' eggs from a backyard flock, because they aren't inspected and sorted like grocery eggs are.I haven't cracked it open yet.
