Yep i vote dogs. they just kill kill kill for the sport of it. but i did loose 67 chickens in one shot one morning to a very vicious fisher cat...sucked the blood out of every one of them slashed at their necks, ect.....it litterally looked like he took red paint sopped on a brush and flung it everywere. I almost gave up on raising birds but then found myself the next spring raising more. Just keep at it and maybe build a pen inside of a pen so they are double secure? or fence around your coop and run to avoid dogs harrasing your flock. goodluck

if you wish to catch a dog you need to set snares or a very large live trap. you can use Hog panels wired together with a top and bottom and then make a one way door in. once it gets in you have the bugger trapped. who knows you may catch something you don't expect?

I realize you're upset and that this has been very traumatic for you. But you need to stop, cool down and think before you go knocking on doors and accusing someone's dog of killing your birds. The answer you're going to get is, "Oh no. I couldn't have been my FiFi. She'd never hurt a flea! And she NEVER leaves the yard!" All you have right now is a he-said, she-said situation. Until you have proof, there's really nothing you can do. You can file a complaint and tell the officer "I THINK it was FiFi down the road. No, I didn't actually see the dog in my yard." Just because it was the same dog (or dogs) the first two times does NOT mean it was the same one this time. Yes, I do realize it probably was, but you still need some sort of proof. You also don't know what kind of people you're going to make mad once you tell them that their dog did this thing. Will they have a gun? Will they punch you out? Will they follow you home and harm your kids? THINK before you act! And be safe!

Set Up A Video Camera, Catch The Stinkers On Tape, Grab Your "have A Heart" And Take Care Of It. Any Animals Pets Or Not That Are "offing" Your Chickens Are Considered An "agricultural Nuisance" And Can Be Dealt With Any Way You Please. Someone Else's Pet Or Not. I'm Not Exactly For Killing Any Animal At All. But, When It Came Down To My Babies Or Theirs... Guess What?? Say Bye Bye To Your Baby, Cause Mine Are In Their Space And You Invaded It.
