Amazing what proper nutrition can do to help a bird achieve their genetic potential.

Is the larger of the two roosters still young (post 318, 4th picture)? To me he looks more gravy-boat than circle, but if he is young that would not be a concern yet, right?

Yes, he is only 7-8 months old in this picture. The other boy is closer to 2 years. He has since filled out quite a bit and will be double the size of the older boy. He is now 10 months but I sadly don't have any recent photos. I can't wait to show him this year!

It looks to me like he's also stretching upward, isn't that what he is doing, which makes his relaxed stance look outstretched and his crop pop out? That's the problem with pictures, IMO, they can look strange, when it's just a bird in motion, no?

I agree. I took these on a really windy day so they were bracing themselves against the wind and feathers were going every which way. Wish I had a decent picture of him.

Here are pictures of the other 2 Pauls Poultry girls. They has since filled out a lot. These are pictures from when I first go them.

Here are pictures of the hen in the first post with the cross beak. This is how she looked when I first got her. All I did was feed her, water her and put her in a nice clean coop. I still can't believe the person let her get to this point.

That is incredible. It would have been very hard to tell what she looked like well cared for. Thank you. For saving her, and for sharing her pictures.

Something that we have not seen here, does anyone have any good represenative pictures of black wyandottes they could share?

Hello everyone I want to ask a favor of my fellow Wyandotte lovers. I am hoping to start a new Wyandotte illustration but I only have good reference photos of silver laced and partridge. I am hoping to do a piece with a different colored Wyandotte. Not sure what color yet but I wanted to know if anyone had some really nice pictures of their show birds I could use? I don't want to go through the thread and use pictures as reference without permission. I am looking for posses that flatter the bird and show off its type and coloration. No butt shots, blurry or odd positioned birds. I would love to have reference for a rooster and hen so I can combine them into one piece. If you haven't already you can check out two pieces I have already done of wyandottes. Practice makes perfect and I really want to make a piece that will make people say "Wow, what a Gorgeous bird!". Also just because i don't pick your picture of your bird doesn't mean i don't like your bird or I don't think it is beautiful. Sometimes one photo just stands out more for what i am trying to accomplish rather than another. I have that "Eureka" moment when I find the right photo and just go with it. Multiple photos are better than just one. Anyone interested in helping me?

Yes I did that one but I used colored pencil to do that one. Thanks for the compliment. I'm hoping to start another piece soon with columbian Wyandotte hens.

Here's the finished one
