A Rock should be "gravy-boat/bowl" shaped.....some folks would describe it as looking like a derby hat

It describes not just the back, but their underline as well

Thank you to Fred's Hens for starting CSU! I have spent two days reading the entire thread. Between this and reading on HLF, I am learning so much and looking at my flock in an entirely new light. This afternoon I went out to look at them and couldn't help trying to assess their type - something I've never done before. Until now my flock has been a hodge podge of mostly hatchery quality birds and some barnyard mixes. That is going to change! I have a date with a couple of chicken friends to go and visit Frank Reese next month and I will be getting some chicks from him. From here on out, I will not be hatching any more mixes and I will be doing what I can to maintain/improve a breed. Keep it coming - I know I still have way more to learn
