Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

She looks nice! Is she the one you bred the asil to, of which I have several of the offspring?

Yes. She's the largest female that's " pure" I've ever hatched. She has a nearly perfect tail, has never been sick, is a good mother, had good eye color, and is a multiple spur carrier.
Negatives are beak is on the long side, she has lots of white in the wings and tail, and at times a touch of white in the lobes. Her tail has definitely gotten better with age though.

she looks really nice i find that the tails lower as they age too unless they have low tails when they are about 2 to 2.5 months old

there are probably a lot more good, large fowl cubalaya, than bantams. most of the breeders post on this thread. since you are in arizona, check with zach rose in calif.

i agree with cubalaya ive been breeding the bantams and thay have gotten pretty good but they anrt just to the level of perfection that the large fowl are, if you want the best start you can get i would suggest large fowl

I have been planning on building a few new pens anyways. I would think my fly pens would be too small for large fowl but I have a run that would be perfect to grow Out a few chicks while I build.
Does anyone have Zach Roses contact information?
