Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

Pics
Cubalaya-any gold or silver duckwing out of my birds will feather super slowly, especially the tails and back. That's how I tell which is which at first.

Josh,

I sent you a pm.

Also, none of us knows what a 'roo' is. We have cocks, cockerels, stags and cocks, but no roo.

Cubalaya-the spot on the head chick probably is a gold or silver duckwing, sometimes they have some faint markings on the back or head, but, not always. I know for sure by the feathering rate-you will think you have a rumpless araucana on your hands!! Not a slight difference-night and day difference. Really , they should be the same as regular wheatens, in theory, but obviously something odd is going on with mine.

Exactly the same age-big difference in feather growth!! Both are males.

Here is a female for you-

Hope that helps.

I have some questions regarding my Cubalaya and I need to post photos here to get responses. Does anyone know how I can post pics on here with my iPhone?

Go to uploads at the top of screen, and just work your way thru it. I'm pretty much technology illiterate, and I figured it out. Maybe there is an incompatibility with the iphone? Regardless, if you just type your questions, we should be able to help you.

Gallorojo,
Thanks, there does seem to be an iPhone compatibility problem. I have a 12 week old Cubalaya chick that is supposed to be a BBR. I want to know if it's possible to confirm this, and to positively sex it, at this age. The more photos I see online, the more confused I get. I thought I'd just throw some pics up here and see what the experts have to say. My only Internet access at this time is via my iPhone, which can't post photos on this forum. I can email photos directly. If anyone wants to post them for me, just send me a PM with an email address and I can send the pics. If not, I'll have to wait till I get access to a computer. Thanks again.

We'd be glad to help you out. Actually, BBR Cubalayas are easy to sex and can generally be sex as early as 3 weeks of age. Now, the Whites and Blacks: that's a whole different story! lol.
