Hi all! I added a couple cuckoo maran hens from tractor supply this year. I’ve been noticing lately, though, that one has a larger comb and much more white than the other. She was by far the smaller of the two up until about a week ago, but I can’t help but be nervous that I may have gotten an accidental roo. Her legs don’t appear to be any thicker than the others, and her disposition seems to be about the same. What do you guys think? I’ve never had cuckoo marans before, so I’m not familiar with the breed. The last photo is the maybe-roo in front with my other cuckoo maran behind. Thanks for your help!

She (hopefully!) is around 7 weeks old right now. I really don’t know what to make of it! I agree that the comb is alarming, although it’s not too red yet, but her legs are fairly delicate and I always thought that was a good indicator of a rooster. I may just have to wait and see! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here’s a few more pictures, with my other cuckoo maran for comparison. The first one just Stella (the for sure hen) and the second is side-by-side.

How old? I'd say boy.
