Cute chicks !
I have gotten a couple of eggs from the cuckoo pullets and they are going in the incubator today... I am a bit anxious to see chicks from them.

They will be 2 generation since I started again from scratch with the cuckoos last year.

Ultrasol- DROOOOOOOOOL at your gorgeous birds! They are lovely!

Here is my first cuckoo chick-- it has yogurt on the tip of it's beak... the beak is actually all black. And of course it loves to shut it's eyes when pic is being taken. LOL.

I pulled some cuckoo silkie chicks from the incubator this afternoon. Can you see the faint light colored lines running down each side of the body and the small light spot(maybe these are girls) on the back of the head.

I was aked to post here from the Lavender Silkie thread. I decided to allow my Gray hen and my 100% Lavender breed. This is the result. BYC user THeFeatheredTempest asked me if it was also a cuckoo. I had wondered that myself. She/He requested I put the little guy up here to see what you guys though.
My theory is that the "cuckoo" pattern is coming from the lavender. My Lavs have some very faint penciling on some of their feathers much like a cuckoo. Another thing to mention is that not all the chicks have this "cuckoo" appearance, but all have the gray appearance.
What do you guys think?
