Your cuckoos are beautiful. They really have nice color, and the pattern is very defined. Does the pattern get more defined as they get older, or is this something they start out with as chicks?

I have only noticed in a couple of birds where the barring is less distinctive as they got older, most have stayed the same.

I have read that it will be genitically impossiable to breed out the pink skin and red combs. While I do not fully understand gentics, and I do not believe everything I read, I have excepted these "flaws" and adore this color silkie, especially the light eyes. I wonder if anyone has achieved uniform black skin, mulberry combs and dark eyes?

Ok so I am reviving an old thread lol. Instead of starting a new one. I hatched this girl out in May. She was a total surprize!! I think she looks of a good quality. BUT I havent had ANY luck getting good quality out of the hundreds of dollars in eggs I have bought. Most of the ones I have I keep hearing the words I would Cull EEEKKK. So how about this girl :\\? I think she is a doll and quality or not there is NO culling and NO auction. Tho I would LOVVVEEE more of her!!!

could we see a side shot of the body and the head.
keep in mind that cuckoos are a project and a lot of defects still show up. my avatar has mottled skin not black and a ginormous comb, but I keep breeding him to good females and his offspring are better.

Very nice! I'm impressed with her comb colour. In your earlier post I was concerned about the wings being too droopy, but that seems to have changed as she matured (or it was simply that one moment in time when the photo was snapped).
