Hi, anyone super familiar with cucumber plants, my plants were doing pretty well but i noticed this morning some of the new cucumbers that are growing (they are about an 2 or 3 inches right now) they appear to look dry, i didnt notice this with the last cucumbers...also my leaves have holes in them like a bug is eating them and the edges of the leaves are yellow on a few....what are my plants in need of :)

Can you show pics? It's helpful to see what those holes look like. Is the soil moist enough? Have you had enough rain to keep the soil waterlogged? When was the last time you fertilized them? I would inspect them closely for signs of insects. Look especially at undersides of the leaves. I would also give them a shot of epsom salts and liquid fertilizer.

I meant to take pics this mornjng-but after googling it appears I have a serious problem with beetles!! How in the world do I get rid of them!!!!

Permethrin, or Sevin. Or Spinosad. Do your homework on all products before deciding to use them. If it's squash beetles, they like to hide out in the soil at the base of the plant. If you drench the soil, they will come boiling up out of the soil, so you can pick them off and drown them in a cup of soapy water. they also hang out on underside of leaves, and lay their eggs there. Be sure to remove all of their tan egg clusters, or the hatching babies will destroy your plants.

Sometimes manual removal of the pests is not possible, especially if it's cucumber beetles. They move too fast to capture effectively, IMO. Permethrin, or Sevin. Or Spinosad. Do your homework on all products before deciding to use them.

Soapy water in a spray bottle or DE, are you dealing with just one plant or many? Spray soapy water a few times daily for a few days and see where that gets you diatomacious earth is good for both the garden and dusting chickens with as well
