Good morning, Karen! And Cap, if you're around. Coffee is ready -- decaf for me and full test for anyone who wants it.
Lots of work to do today. We had a surprise snow yesterday. Weather.com was still saying it was raining the whole time it was snowing. It collapsed our netting system over the large free range run, so the chickens were confined to their coop run. It's big enough, but they are used to being out every day. Well, they didn't want anything to do with that snow anyway.
So we have that to clean up, and have decided it's time to turn off the pump that sends water out to the coop, so we need to fill the winter water tank. Then we need to put up some plastic panels around the coop, just in case we get even more snow. Only about 3" yesterday, but the winter weather is a bit unpredictable this year, so we are getting prepared for anything. The panels are made and just need to be attached, so no big deal there.
It will be an exhausting day, so I am enjoying my morning coffee all the more!!
