Right! The rule is against a different thing altogether.I hope it's allowed. It's natural chicken behaviour. Rooster and hens fight.
What's with the 'tudes lately? They sure are pretty, though!
That's good to hear. Hopefully, it doesn't get too slippery out! The powers that be say there is a storm brewing here, but so far so good.Nothing of any significance. Some icing late tonight into early tomorrow morning.
I'm not sure what the problem is exactly Meg. I let them get on with it as long as nobody gets seriously hurt. You can't stop it with free range mixed sex flocks. The hens fight too. I don't think it's a bad thing to make people aware of. Chickens aren't just about cuddles and fluff with eggs as a bonus. What's with the 'tudes lately? They sure are pretty, though!

Of course, I completely agree. I shoo'ed a bloody combed cockerel out of the coop last night, he just wouldn't give up the ghost. I have hens fight, as well, but normally a rooster interjects before anything comes of it. I certainly realize how much you care for your chickens! I have never heard of that happening??? it was a point of use? Anything inside the house, without a pressure relief valve, is dangerous.Yikes!
Makes me grateful for my old fashioned 50-gallon tank heater.
