Well, that's just sad. Maybe an incubator is the way to go then, so you will be able to add to the flock later.

On my 2nd mocha. Mmmmm.

Yeah, I would need one anyway down the road. They lay for two years and then I would need to hatch more.

But hubby's logic is to get adults now and see how it goes. We've never done this before.

That makes sense. But....watching baby chicks hatching! :jumpy

We're still under a flood warning. But we're up on the mountain.
Flooding threats around us, but we are on the Hunterdon Upthrust Fault - little chance of flooding here - except for our cellar that is. Heavy clay under panning results in excessive runoff sometimes. 3 sump pumps in our cellar generally get the job done.

The valley below us is in the 100 yr. flood plain.
