Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

Not changing the subject but just watched a great horned owl land on top of one of my pens. Went out and scared it off...a few minutes later look up and there's the Reeves escapee on top of the same pen! :thgo figure! I have no idea how they have managed to survive this long. SMH

That's scary!!! Do they have a safe place to be locked in until the danger passes?

Those escapees of yours have been on the loose for quite some time, right? They must have good survival instincts!

Nope, these are the ones that got out, I have no idea how but the latches on their enclosure were unlatched one morning when i got home from work. I know i didn't unlatch them, soooooo? Anyway, they have been surviving on their own for 11 months now. I put feed and water out for them but sometimes I don't see them for a few days, have no idea where they go...most of the time they roost in a huge live oak tree by one of the pens. They have actually returned to being "wild". :D

That's amazing! I take it you were unable to round them up to bring them to safety, but at least you have the opportunity to see them in a truly free range environment. And they have survived 11 months! How about that!
