Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

That's just so scary!! I'm sure you have a plan to evacuate if needed?
Yep, we getting right out of here, we aint hanging about for no one, we are insured. We have 4 ways out of here, 3 have fires in those areas, so we now are down to one, and our evacuation centre on that path, an hour away. So we head as far as can that way.

I am very excited because yesterday my chickens laid their first egg after molting!!! It was Kiwi, one of my Buff Orpington's.

The

NSW is down from 183 to 68 at last news release, so going good, the closest to us is about 40km (24.8 miles) away, and all that is between us and it is bush, so a bit worrying.

the next three days are meant to be really bad, temps over 104f, so all we can do is wait it out. We are getting a heap of smoke from them, but so far that is all we are getting.

We just desperately need rain, it is pretty much all that will put them out now.
Sending prayers your way! Good luck!

We've all been watching the news....photos of people huddled on beaches with their animals really touched my heart

@Building Bridges - growing fodder is actually not very hard.
Yes, I read an article or two....it doesn't seem hard but it seems like a lot of messing around...I guess because I'm moving into a little house 10 hours away and can't envision where I would do all that rinsing and sloshing and checking and poking.....it kinda got put on my back burner. I may revisit once I'm settled.
