Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

We will get a break in the rain this afternoon around 1pm. As long as I have some dry time to get out and get things done I'm happy. We're in for 8 days of rain. Hope yours stops soon!
Oh man, get out the ark!

How was day one with DH home? I know it was great for him!!

I think we were talking about sharing ideas for leftovers. I made a tri tip day before yesterday, and last night used that for burritos. Yum! Still some left. Any ideas? Maybe a beef stroganoff.

He is very happy being home. He was very happy to see the dogs.

Today he went out to see what modifications I made to the coop

Soup would be good, stroganoff, you could use some fettucine and an alfredo sauce, another good idea is mashed potatoes with blanched beans and gravy.

Goodmorning Debby. Today will be around 75 I believe but tomorrow starts a week of temps hovering around 90 or so. So it's coming.

I think Texas is too hot for me, 80 is about my limit :D

Better get outside and enjoy today Pert!

You can't go wrong with stroganoff (at least, in my house)!

I wonder why I don't think about it more often. Usually I make it from scratch for a meal. This is the first time I'm turning leftovers into it. I think it was you who turned me on to Turkey Tetrazzini, which we have fallen in love with. Turning leftover turkey into that gave me this idea.

One tri tip goes an awful long way around here.

Turkey tetrazzini is the bomb! Stroganoff is too, but I rarely think to make it.

I like the idea you came up with for the tri tip, sounds delicious!

On another note, it turns out Surly only had the one chick survive. I found two that died before getting all the way out of the shell, and one egg that turned out to be infertile. She is not sad about it, so neither am I. She is quite happy to be up and about and taking care of her one little chick, who is a buff orpington and will be named Lucy 2 after my beloved and belated Lucy. Counting on it being a pullet, of course.

The other chickens are having some stressful days while we are trying to acclimate them to a new coop. We had to gather a few up and put them in to lay their eggs. I'll let them out in a while, but after they are all in tonight, I'll leave them in for a day or two until they get used to it. (Who recommended that? Good idea.) It turned out so nice and they have oodles of space, but "it ain't home".
