We are building it. I say we, but really DH. He has already started designing it after a few I have seen on BYC. 8x10 with a large secure run to go with. They will still semi-free range in the orchard during the day.

Fun! I bet you can't wait! Do you have colors picked out yet? And what do you grow in your orchard? I love fruit trees.

A fire watch in January? Haven't you all had much snow this winter? Hope things stay calm and nothing comes of it Meg.

You're welcome to some of mine. We're due to get hit Sunday night and Moday all day with more.
 
I can't wait, Meg. First project to get started when DH retires end of February! He put up a prefab shed last summer for my chicken supplies and we painted it barn red and white. I'm going to have the coop match it. I will even paint the little coops that I'm keeping to match. They will still serve a purpose if I need a sick bay or something.

We have apple, pear, plum and cherry trees and a bunch of berry bushes - raspberries, marion berries, black berries and blue berries. The chickens get anything that falls on the ground and any berries in their reach. They love summer!

Isn't that wild? There's some snow in the mountains, but even that isn't much.

That'll be great. My whole world is barn red and white trim, haha. I love it. I can't wait to see yours! I'd also love to see your orchard :love

Maybe you can document the build and make an article out of it. It would be fun to see the step by step process.
