Poop balls on the feet? Sounds awful! Glad I've never had to deal with that!

I have had to learn many things the hard way with my chickens, but one thing we did right in the beginning is give them 4,000 sf to roam every day. I think this has perhaps mitigated this malady for them. Plus, I'm pretty fastidious about their coop, but I know Penny is too, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm a single parent (son is 34). I never tried being a father too . In kindergarten the kids gave him a really bad time because he didn't have a father around. I'm sure it was the mothers that put the idea in their heads. The class register just showed two mothers' names as parent- no mention of father. I should have made friends with the other only.

Later there was another "mother" suddenly single when her young husband died of a heart attack. He was my son's best friend till then. After she lost her husband, she wouldn't let her son go anywhere alone.

I said she was welcome to visit along with her son. She came once and was so worried about everything he was doing(even though she was there) she took him back home. He was a really nice kid, I hope he turned out okay.

Wow. What an experience. I'm so sorry. How did all this effect your son?

We have hundreds of wild rose bushes on our place! Birds love them.
