Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

Good morning all! Made a fresh pot of coffee, and set out the banana bread. It is especially good if you put it in the toaster over there for a minute. So good warm with butter. 😋 We have cream cheese and marmalade if that's how you like it too. :D

Cap, I haven't told much of my story here, and probably never will, but suffice it to say, like you, we moved to the forest on a river. At first it was a forest on a river in Northern Virginia, and then to one in Washington. Just saying, there is no better place to be for peace and tranquility than in a forest on the river. With chickens. :highfive: I hope it has brought you as much joy as it has brought to us. Having grown up in the city in So California, I would never go back. It's hard to visit!!!
Didja ever notice how much better you can actually 'think' out in the woods?

Oh my goodness, yes. The sounds of the critters and birds, coupled with the sounds of silence, and the smell of the forest. I feel like I'm in God's country. I don't even feel like I own it. :D

Florida has been ruined by too many people.

Straw Day in Chicken Land

I shared this on BY Bob's thread, but thought I'd share it here. Thought we could all use a bit of chicken love. When too much rain hits our place, it's straw day in Chicken Land. They have the best time scratching through it. I think it takes their mind off the dreary rainy days. :D

Here's Pippi and part of his flock.

And here's Louie Louie in his space with his own bit of straw:

And a few more. You can see Mad Hatter in the middle of the back of the group.

That is the result of the clean air and no constant noises. It is both peaceful and beautiful.

I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia.
We lived up a "holler".
Well, that sounds heavenly to me. :D We weren't far from WV when we lived along the Shenandoah River, and drove through WV a few times just to see the beauty of the mountains there. Stopped at a little cafe there once and had Virginia ham sandwiches. Only time we ever had VA ham.
