Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

Did you try putting them next to the new ones on the roost after dark? When they wake up together in the morning they often do better. Watch them and any that fight too much, take out until the next night. Keep doing this until they get along.
Did you try having them in an adjacent run for a while first? That works better here, although there is always a bit of pecking while the boss ladies teach the pullets who's in touch.
Val, you are great, and I know you care so much.. My problem really, is I have spoiled the other hens so much they feel that a new hen is interloper and distracts my attention away from them. the word jealousy comes to mind!

How many are you integrating? How many established hens? Sorry if you said already.

Sounds like you are well on your way to spoiling the new ladies too.

dearest Valerie, I just don't want to see bloodshed
You're so funny. I don't either!!! I'm a wimp about squabbling chickens. Seriously, I'm just brainstorming with you. But, I wont if you don't want me to.

As for me, when I try to integrate my cockerels I want you and everyone to give me all the advice and thoughts you have! Even if they're wrong. :lau

The reason I like coming in here to chat is because I tend to be a recluse out here in my little corner of the forest. People can stress me out. Sometimes even on BYC, but here I can mask it.

I love talking about chickens and animals, sharing their stories and photos, and even sharing a recipe or two. Actually, I can talk about most anything, but when people start getting argumentative, I can just check out. Can't do that IRL without really offending someone.
IRL I do the same thing, walk away. I don't care if it offends the person who is making me mad

Its only two rescue hens, but i love them just the same
While it's fun to think that way, it's about resources. The newbies ARE interlopers that will take away resources. It would be best to try a see but don't touch approach until the newbies aren't new or try the method @ronott1 suggested.

I understand that friend. I really wasn't thinking when I got them. "heart bigger than brain" thing. sometimes even being human has it's drawbacks!
