That sounds yummy! I do peel American cucumbers, but not English. The skin is soft on them.

I just discovered English cucumbers last year, those are so good! And it's nice to not have to peel them.

The ones we get here are wrapped with a clear wrapping, look for the long & skinny things in the produce section. They cost a little bit more (at least here) than the other cukes, but they are worth it I think.

I was ruined from growing up in southern California where it was always 70 and sunny, lol. Even when it warmed up there it was still nice because it was dry.
Here in Georgia the mid 80s aren't comfortable because of the humidity and don't even get me started on the 90-100 degree days ...it's like living in a sauna and you really can't know just how uncomfortable it is until you're here, lol, I'm ready to move to the mountains! View attachment 2089312

I love doing that! I call it investment cooking. I have a set of recipes for chicken that I got out of a magazine 20 or 30 years ago that I still make. It is organized to spend a day cooking and end up with 6 different meals that actually make more like 20 meals for us. At least. When I first started doing it, I could buy everything for under $100. Not anymore.

Inflation is something else. I can remember for $100.00 you had several bags of groceries and now you're lucky if it fills the bag up.
