I like mine, but I don't know that I'd pay for one (I got it with points for performance at work). I've made large batches of onion rings and chicken strips from scratch, then put them in the freezer. It's very convenient for reheating stuff like that quickly without heating up the whole house with the oven.
It's a countertop convection oven on a very small scale. The things I like the most are that when I make the o rings they're fried, and when I reheat any oil that seeps out falls through the basket and they're super crispy rather than greasy. The chicken strips are baked, but when I reheat the crust is still crisp and the meat isn't dried out.
We live in the woods too, but we have cedar trees, which I think repel them. I'm not sure what the difference is. In Virginia we lived in the woods and it was a big problem. We live in the woods, so I have to check the dogs daily. And myself. I hate ticks!
It can be brutal! I'm in Phoenix and when it's time to start cooking it's the hottest part of the day. That's very interesting and good to know. I might have to look into one! Using the oven during summer months can be rough.

It's hard to say what the difference is. Maybe it's because I use preventative treatments on my animals, but we do a lot of gardening and never find one on us either. And we have a lot of deer.We have a few cedar trees, but lots of ticks. I do like Virginia.
Cedar is a natural repellent for many bugs, I think. That's why they build cedar closets.I didn't know that about cedar trees. I'd be curious to know why cedar repels them!
