That is an adorable chick, Chickie. She is going to be a beauty when she grows up. Look at that eye makeup.

I call it her eyeliner! Hopefully it's a she!!! "She" is a necked neck/easter egger mix I think so hopefully she will lay green eggs.

A bit jealous of your beautiful Florida weather. I miss my So Cal weather. But, I am here, in rainy Washington, and trust me, when it's a sunny day, it's a big deal. Glad you are having a great day!

Oh yeah...I remember that. We lived in Mandarin, outside of Jacksonville, for a few years. The humidity was brutal. So Cal didn't have that. It's basically desert.

I'm not really complaining. I love my rain forest.

I have a question about how to keep the little no see um bugs away from the chickens and the yard. We have them something awful right now. One even flew up my nose yesterday. Any suggestions?

I have never had any idea how to curb those annoying critters. Thankfully we don't have them here. However, I was looking at Cedar oil the other day as a natural pest control, as we do have mosquitoes. Here is a link to a site that sells it. I do not know if it works. I'm just thinking of trying it this year.
