Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

I am so glad you have been able to go to the coop to see your flock. How are your guys doing? I know you had one isolated.
Mad Hatter is not isolated anymore. He free ranges with everyone during the day, but doesn't go into Pippi's coop at night. He has his own. It has been working out well. Pippi keeps him in line, so everything is peaceful with the chickens. :) Happy chickens. Happy life!

Surly Girl and Lucy 2 are still on their own. After yesterday, I've decided to give Lucy 2 another couple weeks of growing before integration. For me, it always works better when the chicks are close to the same size as the grown hens.

By this time next year? What is holding you back this year?

There's no way I can garden where we are now for several reasons. But this fall the house we've been working on since Nov. 2018 should be pretty much done and I'm moving up there. DH is sort of too, but he'll have to divide his time because his job is down here. The house has a decent backyard and next spring I can finally get some vegetables going, plant some flowers and play in the dirt :D

Oh, I see. For a minute I thought you were sick too! Phew! I understand not planting a bunch of flowers and veggies when you are about to move! I have done that and regretted it. :D

Nope, I'm disgustingly healthy :gig

Where we live now in the company owned house, there's no outside water source for me to water garden plants, the wind blows almost continuously (gusts can get up to 60 mph) and there's too much wildlife around that eat everything. We're going to be more in town at the other house and will have a fence around the back yard and there are places to hook up hoses. Plus, that's a house we own (us and the bank) not like where we are now in one owned by the company DH works for.
