I'm so glad you shared that experience! So sweet.

I sure did want to save that little bunny. It was barely bitten, but a bite is a bite. I think it would be huge fun to domesticate a wild bunny for a pet.
We have a lot of squirrels, and I call them pets, but they are very wild. I just make sure they have plenty of food and water. They are so much fun to watch. I do watch my kitties around them because the grey squirrels like to run around on the ground. So far, after several years, not one has been caught by my cat. And I'm talking about my big white hunter, not the munchkin. He would never sneak away with it. In fact, he never eats any of the critters he catches. He just brings them in the house and lets them go, and then watches mom run around and try to rescue them.

I'm quite certain he does it because he thinks I'm bored and don't get enough exercise. The chickens have helped. He spends a lot of time out there watching them through the fence and waiting for one of my trips out to care for them. I always take some time to sit down with him while I'm there. It's his special time.
