No thanks on grits. I never developed a taste for them.

That is a hard food to take. I think you almost have to grow up eating them to appreciate them. They are very gritty, feels like I'm eating sand.

The Yankee came to visit and the Dam*ed Yankee came and stayed.

Is that eggs in a basket? I think I did that in high school home ec class.

It's called egg in a hole.

They lie, and seems like people believe it!

Those of us that believed them had never had chickens. We didn't know what to expect.

In fairness, my 3rd coop was a prefab. DH was travelling and I needed a place to brood some chicks. That was three years ago and although I would never have been able to use it as a coop, it has served as temporary quarters for a sick hen or an ornery cockerel a few times. Now we just call it "The Restaurant at the Other End of the Galaxy", and as that name implies, it is a food stop outside the immediate coop areas. They all visit it from time to time, and I've even seen Pippi bring one of his favorite girls there on a date.

I'm back from taking DH to the airport. His 90 yr old mom is very sick, and maybe near the end. They are going to allow him in to see her, which is a big relief. Very sad for him. I stayed here to care for the critters and chickens, and would not have been able to see her anyway. Even her grandchildren are not allowed. Too much risk in the senior centers.

So, I was up and at 'em too early! Made a fresh pot of coffee for anyone who would like an afternoon cup.
