I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had prime rib, but I enjoyed the leftovers in Philly sandwiches last night even more.

I have struggled the last few days, since Christmas eve, with an old and ailing cat. Hviti, my avatar photo, is fading and had a very bad day on Christmas Eve, with what appeared to be paralytic spells. I've been giving him Cosequin and that seems to be helping. I gave him one baby aspirin that day, which helped a lot, but it's not good for cats, so I haven't given him another. Waiting for tomorrow to come so I can call the veterinarian. He seems to know he is not well and is sticking pretty close to us right now.

Actually Hviti is only 12, not all that old for a cat, but it seems that it's old for him. He eats all the time and is losing weight. It's heartbreaking.

Hi Val. That prime rib sounds pretty good. I spent time at my daughter's house with her and her fiance and another daughter and grandkids with ham, turkey and all the trimmings. Time well spent.
Sorry to hear about your cat not feeling good. Lost the last cat I had about 3 years ago. She lived to be 16. Was a sad day. She had always followed me from one end of this place to the other. Now my dog who is 16 is on his last legs.

He's a chocolate lab. One of the most hyper dogs I've ever had. Chase sticks from morning till night and never tire of me throwing them for him.

Ah, he sounds like a wonderful dog! Our dog doesn't understand fetch at all. If I throw a ball out for her, she might go get it, but she's not going to bring it to me. She says if I want the ball, either don't throw it, or go get it myself.

We were here by ourselves. I made a low country boil with polish sausage, potatoes, onions, corn on cob, crab legs, shrimp, lobster claws, and broccoli. It was sure good.
