Cooper is back in the coop!!! We wrangled him into the gate and he went in. Now he is with the whole flock and so far so good. Pippi is letting him know who is boss around there and the girls are putting him in his place too. This just might work out for a hormonal cockerel after all. He will have to win them over.

What's a box trap? I have a raccoon trap. I don't think he would go through the opening to that.

A box trap is a live catch Hav=a=hart type trap, and baited with grain birds will readily enter them.

I think my raccoon trap is a Have-a-hart trap. If he gets out again I will try it.

Good morning everyone! Coffee is ready.

It was a long night and day yesterday. But at the end of the day, Cooper was in the coop with the other chickens, so no chance of jumping the fence and sleeping in the forest again. I was so exhausted from that 24 hours that I slept in until after 7am this morning!!!

The excitement here was a fire across the river from us tonight. That's scary in this dry heat we are having. It is a no burn season, so I was concerned. But the volunteer fire department got there and put it out before it got out of hand. They are still there cleaning up. I hear chain saws and the water truck. Can't see what they are doing.
