There is a Pekin duck that lives on a local canal. She appears to have developed a case of Bumblefoot.
I've become quite attached to her, so I'd like to do everything that I can to help. Most of the treatment options seem to require a fair amount of handling, and I don't believe that she'd let me pick her up, or really touch her feet much. I'd be happy to hire a vet to come out, but I don't think most vets would be willing to entertain said "wild goose (duck) chase".
I was considering purchasing fish amox tablets and trying to get her to eat one. Is that an ill-advised course of action?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Jon

Thanks cowhlb. Does anyone out there have experience trying to feed a "wild" Pekin an amox pill? Suggestions?

If I had a place to keep her temporarily I would consider catching her and treating her.

In any case, Duramycin is better at getting to extremities, I am told, so I would consider soaking bread in a solution of that and giving it to her.

Duramycin is sold in feed stores.
