Curious about shoulder perching.

I have a mixed flock of birds and recently one of my Dominiques started occasionally flying up to perch on my shoulder.

No warning, just suddenly she is there.

It doesn’t bother me, as she is balanced and will hop off if I nudge her.

I don’t want to start something that will begin to be a habit of the entire flock.

Unless we are training for a reboot of Alfred Hitchcock’s Birds.

I have a Barred Rock Pullet, well actually she's a hen now, as of 2 weeks ago, that does this too! I thought it was cute to begin with since she is at the bottom of the pecking order. I figured this was her way of getting some one on one time without getting ran off by a higher ranking flock member. I allowed it for about 2 months but they're seriously curious about shiny things and my eye caught her attention. She got me in the eye but thankfully she just took a chunk out of my contact lens. Oh my gosh it was painful!!! I have an 8 year old daughter that wears glasses but they won't protect from a peck coming in from the side. Anytime she tries it now, I immediately work to get her down as quickly as possible, and then give her attention.
I wanted to share just because I thought it was odd that your bird is a Barred Rock or Dominique (they look a lot alike)

I doubt you need to worry the whole flock will want to sit on your shoulder. Just having the one is rather an accomplishment; just as long as you don't mind being pooped on.

Eye injuries and this ^^^ I wasn't bothered by the poop as much as the pain that I felt in my eye. Oh my, it really hurt and just thinking about when it happened, makes my stomach sink! I'm surprised that I didn't have smoke pouring out of my ears that day. Between the pain and the thoughts that rushed through my brain was a lot. It may not seem like it, but so much ran through my mind when it happened
