curious about this breed

I was hoping someone on here would be able to tell me what breed of chickens these chicks will turn out to be?

They look like Cuckoo Marans to me from the feathering and leg color.

The only thing is....the person who sold them to me said they will lay white eggs? I just read that marans lay brown? I keep trying to text the girl to see if she found out from her mom what breed they are, but so far, we have had no luck

That's strange. :/ And yes, Marans will lay brown eggs, and even if the chick isn't a Maran, all the breeds (I can think about) that are similar lay brown eggs as well.

Your chicks are neither of those breeds, the coloring is too far off. Here's an example:

Mottled Ancona

Brown Leghorn.

They don't looks like mix breeds. I am going to stick with Cuckoo Marans, but we'll definitely know when they are older.
