After reading some of the responses to another thread, I have become curious...do different breeds have chickens have longer laying lives then other breeds?
My Buffs were laying past their third year. They each laid one egg a day with no drop off except winter.
I have no idea if they went beyond three years because I had to give them away.
Some people seem to be getting only two years from their laying hens. I was wondering if it was a breed thing or not.
