I am not worried, just curious - is this normal for an 11 week old rooster? His 'cheeping' turned to a muffled laryngitis type barely audible sound around 4 weeks and has been that way ever since. I can now here him clucking and he'll talk to me quite a bit, but it sounds incredibly muffled. Just curious since I have no prior rooster experience. He is a healthy and active Wyandotte.

On a side note his character is a bit like a cranky old man haha - which I presume is mostly normal for a rooster? I understand some are nice, some very aggressive, and things can change as they mature (and get worse sometimes). I don't think we have the sweetest rooster but he seems descent (for now). Curious on others thoughts though.

Thanks

Sounds normal.........some go thru voice changes sooner, some later. Does he sound like he is chortling and chuffing when talking to you?

Your pullets (girls) voices will change if they have not yet also.

Yup, some boys stay nice, some get icky.
