Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Okay, first some background, I never deliberately went to .007 movies. I especially don't care for Daniel Craig. My brother wanted to see it and I was hoping it would give me some leverage when I want to see Mockinjay 2- which he is NOT interested in at all.

Result: despite many critics to the contrary - we both really enjoyed SPECTRE. It's long at about 2 hrs.28 min. but it kept us wide awake. We both give it 3.5 stars out of 4.

Thanks for the update. We are planning on going to see it tonight. :o)

Oh yay!!!! Now I really can't wait to see it! I'm not much into blondes at all, but I do love me some Daniel Craig. Despite that, I wasn't keen on a blonde .007, but within the first 3 minutes of Casino Royale, I fired Sean Connery. (*jk. he's still my favorite)

I even thought that George Lazenby didn't so such a terrible job, but since he was rumored to be such a jerk about the role, he didn't last. Anywho, I'm glad to hear that you liked it. 3.5 out of 4 is pretty good coming from a viewer who doesn't actively seek out the Bond movies! Awesome!

OK, so I don't know if it's already been talked about here, but The Final Girls is AMAZING. I just watched it, and it's got to be one of my favorite movies ever - maybe even my absolute favorite movie of all time. If you're into Cabin in the Woods type stuff, you'll love this. The writing and acting was a little bit shaky once or twice, but the atmosphere! The cinematography! The '80s slasher film references! And moments of surprisingly honest emotion.

Objectivly it's probably 3.5 or even 4/5 stars, but for me, it was absolutely 5/5. If you're one of those couples where one person loves horror and the other loves comedy, this will totally work for you.

My son and I went to see Spectre last night and really liked it. Like drumstick diva, I'm not a fan of Daniel Craig as James Bond (I personally think Sean Connery was the best followed by Pierce Brosnan), however Spectre was very well done--in our opinion, the best of the Craig Bond movies.

Speaking of the Bond franchise, has anyone else heard any rumors that they're looking at Idris Elba to possibly play him next? I'm not at all opposed, I think he was awesome as DCI John Luther and would lend a bit more grittiness to the role that DC brought an edgy bit of rawness to, but I wonder how much truth there is to it? I forget where I saw/read about it but it's alleged that someone from the franchise said he's too gritty, perhaps? I love that sort of thing, but I know that it's not necessarily the first trait that comes to mind when one thinks of a character such as James Bond. What do y'all think? Who could/should be the next Bond?

It could happen, but according to the latest oddsmakers, Damien Lewis is the most likely candidate to play Bond next. The current odds among the leading candidates for Bond are Damien Lewis (3/1), Idris Elba (5/2), Tom Hardy (4/1), Henry Cavill (5/1), and Michael Fassbender (7/1).

I want IDRIS. I'm not sure who Damien Lewis is BUT, if he's the guy from "Perfect Guy," who was slamming the girlfriend around I don't want him. He is gorgeous but, I can't forget the look on his face (I know it's called acting but still....)

They claim they don't want Idris because he is too "streetwise," which probably means the wrong color. I think he is great and also Chiwetel (if I spelled that right). I don't care if they are pink, blue, spotted , striped they should pick Good looking men who can ACT.

I never saw the show, but Damien Lewis is the guy who played Sergeant Nicolas Brody in the Showtime series Homeland.
